The way you see God will determine how you relate with Him. If you see God as a schoolmaster, ready to punish any of your mistake, you will be afraid of Him and not have a personal relationship with. If you see God as a loving Father who cares about every details of your life, you will love Him and want a personal relationship with Him.
You may ask, 'but no one has ever seen God before, how would you know who He is?'
No one has ever seen God. But His only Son, who is Himself God, is near to the Father's heart; He has told us about him John1:18NLT. This is the revelation of God He has given us, that God is your 'heavenly Father'. In Matt6:9 when He was teaching us how to pray, He said we should refer to God as Father. In Matthew 7:11NKJV He said, If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Matt6:26 He also said, Look at the the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them, Are you not of much value than they?
You can see how He revealed God's heart towards you. In John 20:17 Jesus said to her 'Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascend to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, 'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, and to my God and your God.
There are over ninety-nine (99) names of God revealed in the bible, but Jesus never used any of them except Father, because this is the only name that can make us draw nearer to God.
Think of it this way, a president of a country can be known by his title as General, Marshal, Supreme Leader... but his children won't call him any of those names when they want to have a conversation with him. To the outsider he may be eulogized as the Brigadier General so and so, but to his children, he is daddy. Same as you, you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom you cry out "Abba, Father".Romans8:15NKJV
However, If you are not part of His family, He may be a consuming Fire. How can I be part of His family? Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior and you will become part of His Family. John1:12 But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name.
